Solutions

Different words for the same shape.

Members, residents, students, parents, subscribers, contributors, franchisees, owners. Underneath the vocabulary, every organization on this page has the same problem: money is expected on a schedule, it arrives messily, and somebody has to reconcile the two.
  • Associations & professional bodies

    Associations

Professional bodies bill thousands of members on an annual cycle, receive the money through every rail their members happen to use, and then have to say — precisely, at an AGM — who is in good standing and who is entitled to vote.

  • Clubs & member organizations

    Clubs

Country clubs, sports clubs, social clubs and alumni associations carry more obligation types per member than almost any other organization, and the consequence of getting standing wrong is a member being turned away at a door in front of their guests.

  • Resident & homeowner associations

    HOAs

A resident association bills the same amount to the same units every month, receives most of it, and then discovers at the AGM that nobody can explain the difference between what was billed, what was banked, and what the arrears schedule says.

  • Schools & education

    Schools

Schools, academies, training organizations and tutoring businesses bill per student and get paid per adult — and those two are almost never the same person, the same number, or the same reference.

  • Savings groups, welfare funds & cooperatives

    Savings groups

Rotating savings groups, welfare associations, cooperatives and credit unions run on trust, and trust runs on a contribution record that every member can check and nobody has to take on faith. The name changes by country — chama, stokvel, tontine, susu, esusu, hui, SACCO, credit union — and the money problem does not.

  • Churches & faith communities

    Faith

Faith communities carry a mixture of voluntary giving and genuine commitments, and the two need to be handled very differently. Zetu keeps them apart.

  • Internet & subscription services

    Subscriptions

Internet providers, security companies and recurring household services have the tightest feedback loop in receivables: a customer who pays expects service within minutes, and a customer suspended in error phones immediately.

  • Professional & recurring services

    Professional services

Accountants, lawyers, IT companies, agencies and maintenance firms bill predictable recurring amounts to a small number of clients — which makes each unpaid invoice a much larger share of the month, and makes chasing it personally awkward.

  • Property & real estate

    Property

Property is where recurring obligations, heterogeneous payment rails and stubborn reconciliation problems appear together most acutely — and it is where much of the thinking behind Zetu was worked out.

  • Franchises & business networks

    Franchises

A franchisor bills businesses it does not control, on amounts that depend on their reported performance, and has to keep the relationship intact while doing it.

The common shape

Every one of these runs the same loop.

What changes between them is the vocabulary, the obligation types, and how much of the money arrives with a usable reference.
  1. 01ExpectedWhat should have been paid this period.
  2. 02ReceivedWhat actually arrived, on every rail.
  3. 03ReconciledWhat is confidently matched to an obligation.
  4. 04OutstandingWhat remains, and how old it is.
  5. 05ActionedWho is chasing it, and what they promised.

Zetu is not built around the word “member”.

A school does not have members. A franchise network does not have residents. An internet provider does not have contributors. Software that hard-codes one organization's vocabulary into its data model forces everybody else to translate, and the translation shows up on every screen, every report and every message a customer receives.

Underneath, Zetu works with a party who has a relationship, an account that carries obligations, settlements against those obligations, a standing that interprets them, and entitlements that follow. What those are called on screen is your organization's decision.

So if your sector is not on this page, the question is not whether we built for it. It is whether money is expected from the same people on a recurring basis, and arrives in a way that makes matching it hard. If both are true, the model fits.

Not sure your sector fits?

Tell us how money is expected and how it actually arrives. If Zetu is the wrong tool for it, we would rather say so early.
